Designed by Beth Brown-Reinsel

The Saami are a nomadic people living in the northern reaches of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia. They are known for the bright colors used in their traditional folk wear. This mitten is knitted in four colors and begins with a braided cast-on which is based in the LongTail method. The thumb is knitted without a gusset, as was the custom, and the hand and thumb are finished with pointed tips. Some of the motif sections are worked with three colors in one round.
